How to Connect PresenterPrep to Claude via MCP and Record Your Pitch
PresenterPrep connects to Claude as an MCP server. Once connected, Claude can write your script, create a recording session for you, and pull back feedback on your delivery — without you leaving the conversation. Here is how to set it up and run the full loop.
What you need
- A PresenterPrep account (free to create at presenterprep.com)
- Claude Desktop or Claude.ai with MCP support enabled
Step 1: Add PresenterPrep as an MCP server
In Claude Desktop:
- Open Claude Desktop and go to Settings.
- Select Integrations (or MCP Servers, depending on your version).
- Click Add MCP Server.
- Enter the server URL:
https://mcp.presenterprep.com/mcp - Save and restart Claude Desktop.
In Claude.ai:
- Open claude.ai and click the Integrations icon in the left sidebar.
- Select Add integration.
- Enter the server URL:
https://mcp.presenterprep.com/mcp - Click Connect.
After adding the server, Claude will show a prompt to authorize PresenterPrep. Click through it — this opens a sign-in page where you log in to your PresenterPrep account and grant Claude permission to create sessions and read recording feedback on your behalf.
You only do this once. PresenterPrep stays connected across conversations.
Step 2: Confirm the connection is working
Start a new conversation and type:
“List my PresenterPrep decks.”
If the connection is working, Claude calls the list_my_decks tool and returns your uploaded decks. If you have no decks yet, it says so — which is also a working response.
If Claude says it cannot find PresenterPrep, go back to your integrations settings and confirm the URL is exactly https://mcp.presenterprep.com/mcp with no trailing slash.
Step 3: Ask Claude to write your script
Tell Claude what you are preparing. Include:
- What your presentation or pitch is about
- Who the audience is
- How long the script should be (30 seconds, 60 seconds, 2 minutes)
- Any specific points that must be in it
Example prompt:
“Write a 45-second elevator pitch for my company. We make project management software for construction teams. The audience is a seed-stage investor. Lead with the problem. End with the ask: I’m raising $500k.”
Claude writes the script and, through the MCP connection, creates a prep session in PresenterPrep automatically. It returns a session URL.
Step 4: Open the session link
Click the link Claude gave you. It opens a page in PresenterPrep with your script displayed and a Record button.
Your script is shown in full. Read through it once before you record. Check that the language sounds like you — if any phrase feels unnatural to say out loud, go back to Claude and ask it to rewrite that part before you start.
Step 5: Record yourself
Press Record. A countdown runs, then you are live.
Read the script at the pace of a real conversation — not slower than normal to be careful, not faster than normal to get through it. Speak to the camera if you have one on, or just forward if you do not.
When you finish, press Stop. PresenterPrep saves the take and starts analyzing your delivery. This usually takes 30 to 60 seconds.
The session page shows your session ID when the take is saved. Copy it — you need it for the next step.
Step 6: Get feedback from Claude
Go back to your Claude conversation and paste the session ID:
“Here is my session ID: ses_acme-pitch_x7k2. What should I tighten?”
Claude calls get_session_feedback, which returns your original script, a transcript of what you actually said, and AI feedback on the delivery. It compares the two and tells you specifically what changed, what you skipped, where you ran long, and what to fix in the next draft.
If Claude responds that the recording is still being analyzed, wait 30 seconds and try again.
Step 7: Refine and re-record
Ask Claude to rewrite the script based on the feedback. It updates the same session with the new text — you do not need a new link. Go back to the session page, refresh, and record again.
Two or three rounds is usually enough. The first recording surfaces the rough spots. The second one is tighter. The third one is usually close to what you would send.
What the session page shows after recording
- Script panel — the text Claude wrote (or the latest revision)
- Takes gallery — all your recordings from this session, newest first
- Session ID — the code you paste back into Claude for feedback
You can record as many takes as you want. Only the most recent one is used when you call get_session_feedback — so if you do three takes, Claude reads feedback on take three.
Troubleshooting
“I don’t see a Record button.” Make sure you are signed in to PresenterPrep in the same browser. The session link requires an active account.
“Claude says it can’t access my session.” The session ID must belong to your account. If you copied someone else’s session ID by mistake, Claude will not be able to read it.
“The transcript looks wrong.” Speech-to-text works best in a quiet room with a clear microphone. External noise, strong accents, or very fast delivery can reduce accuracy. Re-record in a quieter spot if the transcript is missing large sections.
“Claude is not finding PresenterPrep tools.”
Check your integrations settings. The server URL must be exactly https://mcp.presenterprep.com/mcp. If you added it correctly and it still does not work, sign out of PresenterPrep in the authorization step and sign back in.
Once the connection is set up, the full loop — script, record, feedback, revise — runs in under ten minutes. Each round, the script gets tighter and you get more comfortable saying it.
